Robin Carson, Au.D., CCC-A
After many years of working for other hearing care companies, I opened Carson Hearing Care in 2013 with a simple idea: treating hearing loss goes far beyond hearing aids. For the best results, it takes a customized hearing healthcare program administered by a skilled professional. Since we opened, I’ve been truly gratified by the response to our practice. We’ve helped hundreds of people in Fort Worth hear better – and live better as a result. Since I have hearing loss myself, I have a first-hand understanding of the entire process.
I’m blessed to have an amazing team of people working with me, and each one of them is a star at what they do. In some ways, Carson Hearing Care feels less like a practice and more like a family – and that includes the patients. As we help them work through their hearing challenges, we develop a special bond that lasts far beyond the patient visit.
I was born and raised in New England and I completed my undergraduate work at Niagara University in upstate New York. I received a Masters Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of New Mexico and a Doctorate degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences. I feel like Texas is my true home. I love everything about Fort Worth and enjoy spending time with my husband Rod and our three children.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of Carson Hearing Care.
Christie Plock, BS, HIS
I’ve had the pleasure of calling Fort Worth my hometown for most of my life. When you truly care about the health and well-being of the people in your community, audiology is the perfect profession.
From early childhood, I’ve loved and had a passion for helping individuals with hearing loss. I earned degrees in American Sign Language and Interpreting for the Deaf while attending school in East Texas. I’m proud to play a part in helping to prevent and avoid the isolating and debilitating effects of long-term hearing loss. Dealing with my own hearing loss and tinnitus has given me first-hand knowledge of the condition and its effects, and has given me a greater ability to find the perfect solution for each patient. It’s hard to believe I’ve been in this field for nearly 30 years and I am fortunate to the part of the Carson Hearing Care team.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy attending church, exercising, reading and spending time with my friends and family. I also have three wonderful children and three very special grandchildren. They are my greatest joy.
Erich Gessling, B.A.
Doctor of Audiology, Extern
I currently serve as a doctoral extern at Carson Hearing Care. I’m completing my residency year of the Doctorate of Audiology program at the University of North Texas (UNT). While at UNT, I’ve taught undergraduate courses on hearing science and led the Adult Hearing Science and Hearing Aid Lab, which published research articles on hearing aid verification and cognitive decline-related hearing loss.
For me, the field of audiology is all about people. It gives me the opportunity to change my patients’ quality of life through better hearing. At Carson Hearing Care, our goal is to educate our patients so that they make the best decisions for their health, and to provide an extremely high level of service and expertise to everyone.
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, and enjoy spending time with my wife Sylvia and son Elliot. We love to get outdoors and hike, bike and play at the park.
I have worked for Carson Hearing Care since it’s opening in 2013. I love my job and all of our patients! Being a part of a team that helps people hear better is so rewarding. The office is a happy place to be and each patient is treated like a part of the family. I am thankful to work with such a wonderful group of people.
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, and I love living here. I attended Texas Tech University and have a degree in Communication. I have been married to my husband Steven since 1993 and we have three children. We enjoy hanging out on good patio and going to TCU games. We attend church at Christ Chapel where we are involved in a great small group.
I came to work at Carson Hearing Care in 2013 when Robin decided to make the big plunge into opening her own practice. As one of the office administrators, I meet and greet the patients, handle the phones and manage the scheduling of patients, along with an array of other clerical duties.
Since we opened, I have seen Carson Hearing Care grow into a passion-driven business from Robin. Her commitment to excellence in the industry as well as her patients is what drives me daily. We enjoy being at work, helping patients and having them include us in their lives.
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, and my husband Kenny and I have two girls. The oldest, Erin, has boy-girl twins that attend Trinity Valley School. Our youngest daughter, Erika, recently graduated from TCU and moved to New York City shortly after to pursue her dream of living there (we wish she would come home!).
I encourage you to stop by anytime, have a cup of coffee and meet the Carson Hearing Care team.
